Welcome to the School Age Child Care (SACC) Program at Holy Spirit Catholic School.  The program at Holy Spirit is located in the cafeteria.  Should you need to contact program staff, 24-hour voice mail is available at (507)287-2454.

SACC provides the highest quality enrichment opportunities in a nurturing and safe environment for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Program options include the following:

  • Before and After School Care:  SACC is open from 6:30 a.m. until school begins and after school until 6:00 p.m.
     
  • Non-School Enrichment Days:  SACC is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at designated schools.
     
  • Scheduled District Late Start Days:  SACC is open at all regular sites from 6:30 a.m. until school begins.
     
  • Scheduled District Early Dismissal Days:  SACC is open at all regular sites from dismissal time until 6:00 p.m.
     
  • Inclement Weather Days:  When school is cancelled due to inclement weather, SACC is open at the NorthropEducationCenter (201 8th Street NW) from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
     
  • Limited Kindergarten Care at Churchill Elementary:  Kindergarten Care is available Monday through Friday beginning at 11:45 a.m. until 3:35 p.m.  Care is available to all morning kindergarten children in Rochester. Transportation is the parent’s/ guardian’s responsibility.
     
  • Summer Care:  During the summer, care is available at two (2) schools from
    6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

School Age Child Care is a self-supporting program.  All program costs are funded with fees paid by registered parents/guardians.  Rochester Public Schools Office of Community Education administers the School Age Child Care Program.

Mission/Philosophy:

Rochester Public Schools School Age Child Care Program will provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can feel they are significant and they belong.

Program Goals:

  • To assure parents/guardians that their children will be in a safe, healthy environment where staff strive to meet emotional, social and physical needs.
     
  • To create a happy, warm, exciting environment that is inviting, comfortable, flexible, and manageable for the children.
     
  • To promote respect for self and others, while responsibilities and social skills are both enhanced and encouraged.
     
  •  To support a caring staff who show genuine respect for the children, have confidence in each child’s potential, and seek to promote the self-esteem of each child.
     
  • To provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that includes, but is not limited to, arts, crafts, self-directed play, field trips, dramatic play, physical activities (indoor and outdoor), community service, reading, quiet time, or offer an environment where homework is encouraged.  Library, computer lab, and cooking opportunities will be provided as resources are available.
     
  • To give individual guidance to children based upon careful observation of each child’s needs and in keeping with parent/guardian values and goals.
     
  • To support and work with the children’s teachers and school administrators in building a stable and consistent team to promote an environment where children may learn and grow.
     
  • To accept enrollment to meet the needs of the community, while ensuring the safety and welfare of all children.
     
  • To provide quality services to parents/guardians during program hours.
