“Your insurance agent may speak of life expectancy. But what your soul requires is expectant life. What do you expect this day? What can you do to make it happen?
~ Getting Older, Growing Wiser – Carol Ann Morrow
Faith is a great gift from God and our responsibility is to embrace and be thankful for God’s gift, so we can then joyfully share and pass on God’s precious gift.
The Church in the wisdom of presenting Liturgical seasons, such as we are living in Lent, points us to the individual, the personal question, and reflection of how am I responding and living God’s gift of Faith.
I would offer that one of the aspects we can examine is how do we (I) respond to, and live, our baptismal call of being present to our fundamental option for the poor. Do I look at all the gifts that God has placed in my life and do I pass on these precious gifts? Do I share, not just from the abundance of my gifts, but from the very essence of my gifts?
Reflect on the Gospel words, “Too whom much is given, much is expected.” Am I living the expectant life?
Lord, help me, unwrap, open, and share my many gifts. Amen.” ~ JFOT
