Welcome to LHS Athletics!
We are really excited for the spring to finally arrive and we are sure you are as well. An important requirement for students to participate in Athletics at Lourdes High School is obtaining a Gold Card. The information in this letter explains Gold Cards and provides the necessary dates for completing this step in time for spring sports.
A Gold Card is a “receipt” given to a student athlete by the LHS Activities Department signifying a student’s registration is complete and all activity fees have been paid. On the first day of practice, the athlete gives the Gold Card to the coach. A Gold Card is needed for each sport, each season, each year.
Gold Card Week
Gold Card Week is the week for registering for sports. Gold Card Week for spring 2014 sports will be March 3-7. Students may stop in at the LHS Activities Office that week on Monday thru Friday from 7:30 am to 3 pm. If a student is unavailable during those times, please call the LHS Activities Office at (507)289-3991 to make arrangements to ensure your athlete will be able to practice on the first day. No Gold Card, no practice.
In order to obtain a Gold Card, students need 3 items.
- Physical Form - This form must be completed and signed by the parent and signed by the physician. A physical must be done at least every three years and a copy will be kept on file in the Activities Office.
