College Credit Options
One of the benefits of taking a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) course is the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school. The University of Minnesota, St. Cloud State University, and Minnesota State Mankato offer college credit recognition to students who complete PLTW courses. Students must earn a class grade of 85% or higher and take the end of course (EOC) assessment with a passing grade of at least 4 or higher.
Each college or university will accept the credit differently. It appears that many colleges count these credits as elective credits, while some PLTW affiliates accept them as introductory level courses. Please check the university or college you plan to attend as each institution acknowledges Project Lead the Way uniquely. Entering college with college credit may benefit a student in many ways including priority room assignment and class registration.
St. Cloud State University will still grant college credit from PLTW courses taken in the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years. Please use this form
if you would like to get credit for these courses from SCSU.
