    Posted June 7, 2017

This required them to follow various criteria and constraints to successfully build a device that protected a raw egg from a 2 story drop. After the completion, students evaluated the changes in kinetic and potential energy to show that you could use mathematics and science to calculate how fast the egg was going when it hit the pavement. • St. John the Evangelist at the State History Day Competition

    Posted May 10, 2017

Saturday April 29th a team of four girls from St. John the Evangelist participated in the State History Day competition at the University of Minnesota. Sophie Boes, Ellie Cox, Sarah Crowley, and Bachthy Nguyen were one of between 40-50 junior performance participants from around the state to compete for the chance to go to nationals. These girls performed at 11:00 and made it through the first round and into the finalist bracket. They competed again in the afternoon and had another amazing performance which resulted in an honorable mention at the State competition. Although they did not make the final two, they did an amazing job preparing, performing, and represented our school with pride, conviction, and tremendous drive. We are so proud of these students and all the hard work that they did in preparing for and performing a ten minute performance. I want to congratulate these amazing students, the parents who worked with them to prepare and drive them, as well as all others who helped make this year a special one for our history day team.
