Mackenzie Brumley Chosen as Kiwanis Student of the Month for April 2017

Congratulations to LHS student Mackenzie Brumley who has been chosen by the Downtown Kiwanis as Student of the Month for April 2017! Daughter of Curtis Brumley and Mary Jo Sibley, Mackenzie was nominated by Mrs. Forsthoffer of the Art Department who stated, "Mackenzie is very passionate about her work. She is hardworking and has a vision for sculpture and working with clay that is rare and a true gift...She is very patient and encouraging with others and has characteristics of a true leader inside and outside of school."

Mackenzie's extracurricular activities include: working, breeding, training and showing dogs as well as creating art. Among the many awards Mackenzie has received are: Peace Poster Contest Winner in Junior High, Art Show Honorable Mention and the Kiwanis Student of the Month.

Mackenzie plans to pursue a career in law enforcement and later go back to school to get a degree and become an art teacher. She plans to continue to work with ceramics as long as she has access to a facility. Congratulations Mackenzie, for being nominated as the Downtown Kiwanis Student of the Month for April!
